For a plastic surgery clinic, AV isn’t simply about putting cameras on the wall – it’s about creating a controlled, reliable, and privacy-conscious environment for patients, physicians, and staff. For this clinic, we designed and installed a cost-effective AV system across exam rooms, consultation rooms, and operating rooms, using InstaProLink cameras, USB-C lapel microphones, Stream Deck controls, and custom OBS-based production workflows. Cameras, scenes, audio, recording, and room control were brought together into one streamlined system that staff can operate without a complicated AV interface.
At the heart of the system is OBS + Companion, acting as the “brain of the operation.” With dedicated Privacy Mode, AV scenes, recording controls, and Stream Deck automation, staff can quickly switch between workflows while a tally light clearly indicates when recording is active – giving patients, doctors, and nurses a simple visual cue. We also fished USB-C connectivity where needed and designed the system around the clinic’s existing workflow rather than forcing the clinic to adapt to complicated technology.
Recordings are stored locally and transferred to the company’s SharePoint environment at the end of the day, creating a practical workflow for centralized file management and access. The result is a professional medical AV and video recording system that delivers flexibility without the cost and complexity traditionally associated with large-scale AV installations.
